Allison and Dave hosted a historically themed wedding in Washington DC at the historic landmark, the Arts Club of Washington. It wasn’t just vintage rings that the pair exchanged to fit the theme, they even had presidential inspired centerpieces!

The ceremony was held inside by a quaint fireplace. They kicked off the festivities with the Beatles, In My Life, as their processional song (played live by the groom’s sister-in-law on the piano). Then the blushing bride walked down the aisle to John Lennon, Real Love, before they said “I do.”

In keeping with the theme, the maid of honor joined in the ceremony by reading a letter from Ronald Reagan to his wife on their anniversary in 1963.
“My Darling, This is really just an in-between day. It is a day on which I love you three hundred and sixty-five days more than I did a year ago and three hundred and sixty-five days less than I will a year from now. But I wonder how I lived at all for the three hundred sixty-fives before I met you.”
Then it was time to celebrate as the couple returned down the aisle as husband and wife while Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen played.

James Monroe actually lived in the couple’s wedding location during his presidency so it was fitting that his image was the head table number.

As guests entered the reception, they discovered escort cards with past presidents’ names under their own. That told them which illustration to find as each table was unique!

What a great way to weave in the wedding location!

When asked about their favorite moments from the day? It was all about their loved ones! “Getting to see family and friends, exchanging the vows during a personal and intimate ceremony that we helped to write/create, and rocking out on the packed dance floor.”
Their first dance was another tune by Bruce Springsteen, Happy. And a very happy day it was!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
