Shannon and Steve said I do in Pasadena, CA at the Ambassador Campus where their love of macaroons could be spotted at every turn! “Steve introduced me to macarons while we were dating, and they soon became my favorite dessert. I thought it would be a nice touch to have them for our favors since many of our guests were from out of town and I knew they had never tasted them. I also liked that they were bright and the glaciers we chose went with our color palette.”
We asked Shannon about this vibrant purple color palette and here’s what she shared with us. “I chose that color palette, starting with eggplant because it is my favorite color. I then decided to accent the eggplant with fuchsia, green, and white because it wasn’t bright enough by itself.”
The wedding had lots of DIY elements too – including the chalkboard signs!
These little girls clearly take the cake on cuteness! Looks like one flower girl even made a second appearance in the aisle during the vows!
“It is traditional in Japanese culture to have 1,001 gold cranes present on your wedding day. The cranes are symbolic of long life and happiness. We, with both of our extended families, spent many hours folding them.”
“Steve’s favorite moment of the day was watching Shannon walk down the aisle.”
“Shannon’s favorite moments were seeing Steve for the first time; walking down the aisle with my dad; the first dance; and seeing how everything came together after months of planning. Also, watching my nieces play together in their flower girl dresses!”
The reception took place outdoors beneath a tent structure that was flanked with fabric to allow guests to still enjoy the natural setting.
There was purple and eggplant everywhere! Even in the palette of the cake and macaron favors!
Then at the end of the night, a bubble sendoff showered the newlyweds with love!
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
