It’s our annual week of re-runs with some of our favorite weddings from the past year. We’ll be back next week with more great new content, but in the meantime, relive some of our favorite memories of 2012.
To kick us off, we’ve brought back the wedding of Erica and Jeromy who said I do at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles in a beautiful garden ceremony and oh-so swanky ballroom reception. How did this location search land on the Ebell? Erica gave us a little insight into their big day. “Kristeen LaBrot (our wedding planner) helped us select our venue. I wanted an outdoor ceremony with a ballroom reception because I always get cold at outdoor weddings. I also wanted the event to be very private and I didn’t want other weddings going on nearby. We also really liked the date 9 TEN 11. When we booked our appointment for the Ebell, we were told that that date was not available but when we came in for our appointment they had drawn up a draft contract with that date on top. It turns out it was available that day and we just knew when we walked in that it was perfect for us.”

And so, with rich vibrant colors in mind, the big day was underway.

With a wedding ceremony in the courtyard garden, the two incorporated several personal touches. “We wrote our own ceremony and our friend Trevor Hoff presided over the ceremony. It made the event so special and intimate, we were grateful that he agreed to help out.”

Then it was off for a few couple’s photos with wedding photographers Next Exit.

For the palette and reception, this happy couple took their design direction from the location. “We were very inspired by the art deco/old Hollywood look of The Ebell and tried to capture the timeless elegance that it inspired. Our colors were red and purple with gold accents, very royal! I love the color purple so I chose that color and let my husband choose the other. He likes red and they look really good together. It might not be the best way to choose your colors but it ended up working out very well.” We love this way of compromising so both bride and groom are happy – the perfect color marriage.

In keeping with the old Hollywood theme and incorporating things the bride and groom love, the tables were named after their favorite movies from the past.

We asked the bride about her favorite moments from the day. “Definitely our dance. We both loved the movie Dirty Dancing when we were younger and our amazing choreographer put elements throughout that came from the dances in the movie. The best part was when we pulled off the lift at the end, everyone was cheering!”

For dinner, guests dined on a several course and oh-so fresh feast. From port wine poached pear & endive salad to filet mignon, roasted salmon and grilled vegetable risotto with basil sauce and herb salad to a six tier wedding cake! The six tiers were six different flavors: red velvet, party time, double dutch chocolate and more!

And the night just wouldn’t have been complete without a little craziness in the photo booth!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
