Today’s wedding isn’t a real wedding but a rustic styled shoot instead! This fun group of guys and gals headed out to the woods (dressed to the nines of course) to inspire you with ideas for your big day! With coral bridesmaid dresses, top hats for the gents and lots of boho chic fashion elements, we couldn’t get enough (especially of the bride’s dress)!!
The team at Talia Studio shared some insight into this shoot for us. “I ultimately wanted to shoot a styled session that would resemble the type of wedding I would want to shoot. They type of couple I would want to book with us. (Not by looks, but people who trust me, and love my work) I like Fall colors, I also had a Fall wedding so it’s the season I chose to go with. I also had this dress. It was my aunt’s from the 80′s. Not a wedding dress. I’m pretty sure it was a party dress, and she only wore it once. On our trip to the Philippines in February she brought out this box of 80′s dresses saying she was going to give them all away. My 6-month pregnant self at the time took the entire box.”
“…a meeting with Mae (who I choose to call Madge) came along earlier this month. She had the connections but most importantly she was excited about what I had in mind. There were many times where she would look at me after I was talking, pause and say, “okaaay…I think I’m getting it.” haha! I love you Madge. You “got it” for sure! I am so tired of the word “vintage”. Seriously, vintage this, vintage that. Lots of light pinks and whites. No offense to those who like this, it’s just been so so so overdone lately that if I was going to invest time and money into this styled shoot, I was going to go a different direction. I met Madge back in 2006 on a snowboarding trip in Big Bear, we just kept in touch ever since. Some people you just click with you know? She played such a crucial part in organizing all of this, I am so so thankful for her and cannot wait to work with this loveable woman in the future!”
The floral design for this shoot is absolutely perfect for fall – rich oranges, reds and lush greens set atop the table in an organic and almost effortless look with wooden stumps and moss below the centerpieces. Love!
The cake is the ‘spooned’ look that is popular for a rustic wedding – it may look homemade but it’s anything but! Yum!
