Aleksandra and John said “I do” at the beautiful Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel surrounded by loved ones, and the perfect beachside palette of pale blue and white with natural accents. We asked the bride how they came to select such a special location for their big day. “Easy! We got engaged at the Ritz Carlton so it felt natural and romantic to make it a setting for our wedding to take place 10 months later!”
We always ask the couple what their favorite moments from the day were. For this bride, it was captured in this photo of her groom. “Seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle! The picture our photographer captured at that moment still gives me goosebumps and butterflies. He always looks handsome but on our wedding day he looked like a true dream – especially as he smiled at me and reached out for my hand.”
The ceremony was a beautiful white outdoor event overlooking the Pacific Coast.
Then it was time for a few brave beach photos before the reception.
At the reception, the newlyweds made a grand entrance! “I loved performing our first dance to Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon” which we had a blast rehearsing in our tiny apartment. I still laugh remembering how many times we stepped on our feet, goofed the moves, laughed til we cried, and scuffed up our floor with those red-soled Louboutins. It was so wonderful to perform it for the first time as husband and wife – and nail the lifts, twirls, and dips!“
“My dad is an absolute dancing machine! Some of our vendors asked if they could rent him out to get the party started at their next gig! The photos do him zero justice but he danced his heart out at our reception. He and my mom even shared a dedicated dance to Celine Dion’s “Power of Love” which is their favorite slow song.”
The decor was inspired by their surroundings – the sea! “Our inspiration was “summer vacation” meets “timeless elegance” – which is a rare combination but with the hand-painted shell table holders, orchids, beach sand, and water-based teal accents, I think we nailed it! Our colors were tan, white, silver, and “seaside” served as our accent color.”
“Towards the end of the night, you might notice a small ladybug pinned to my sash which was my mom’s dirty work! My mom calls me her “ladybug” and we have been collecting them for years. They are fabled to symbolize true love and good luck – so when my mom snuck up during the reception and pinned one on my dress, I couldn’t help but smile at the thoughtful, memorable gesture.”
“The Candy Bar was a must-have for the my sweet tooth. Wedding cake just wasn’t enough sugar to keep our guests groovin’ to our favorite songs on the dance floor! We mixed the bride and groom’s favorites and kept the treats (and the to-go baggies) in line with the color scheme to tie it all together.”
A sparkler send off made for a lovely finale before the bride and groom were off to their honeymoon…and second wedding!
“We actually started off our honeymoon with a second wedding in my native Poland so my grandmother, cousins, aunts and uncles who couldn’t make the Laguna wedding could share in our wedding. It was an even bigger party – we danced until the sun came out! My husband took in the culture, language, and food instantly and became a true local hero when he greeted my grandmother as “Babciu” (which means Grandmother) in front of the entire family. He could do no wrong after that entrance!
After the dust settled from our second wedding, we jetted off to Italy to take in the sites of Rome and the Amalfi Coast. We vow to return to Italy one day to celebrate our anniversary – and this time we want to learn how to make the famous gelato instead of just eating the country’s entire supply!”
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
